Promises…Promises!

Have you ever noticed how many voices are out there telling us what’s right and what’s wrong, what we should believe and not believe?  Have you ever noticed all of the unfulfilled promises that we get from the world?  Just think about it.  We’re told how to look and act by hollywood; what’s important enough to talk about by the news media; what values and morals we should have by politicians and judges; how to fight for what we “deserve” by reality TV shows; and the list goes on.  We are all dealing with real issues in life and we need real answers.  But, we don’t need the latest opinion that seems to be popular.  It’s no wonder that people are frustrated with trying to finding real answers in their lives.  What we need in our daily lives is direction that we can count on.  We need promises that never fail.  The only place we can find that is God’s Word.  God’s promises never fail.  He says in Ezekiel 12:25, “For I am the Lord, I speak, and the word which I speak will come to pass.  He also says in 2 Peter 1:4, that we have been given “…exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world…”  You and I can count on God’s word for direction in our lives.  His word is not an opinion or a new philosophy.  His word is truth, timeless, tested, and sure.  The greatest thing about God’s word is that it is written with you in mind.  Within the pages of His word breathes His love for you and me.  He cares about your pain…He cares about your struggles…He cares about YOU!  He will never leave you nor forsake you.  His word never fails.  His promises are yes and amen!  Trust Him and see.

That’s beautiful man. And I agree that there are many influences trying to persuade us in one way or another. So we must ” believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God…” 1 John 4:1 And I know of no other way of trying the spirits than by the infalable WORD.
